Time to mutilate some parts! Due to the tight tolerances in the case we have to do a small amount of trimming to get everything to fit nicely. You will need a hacksaw and a measuring tool, ruler is fine but I used a vernier caliper.
Screen AUX before modification.
Snip off the top of the aux port as so.
AUX port after modification.
We also have to file the bottom tabs of the screen down slightly, no need to go too crazy here.
The BMS (battery management system) PCB needs to be trimmed to allow space for the usb hub. I know how it will feel hacking at a pcb! But don’t worry there is no circuitry on the part of the chip we will cut.
Cut 13mm x 10mm
We will be re-routing the on/off switch to be accessible from the outside of the console, so we have to remove the one soldered onto the BMS PCB.
