WHAT IS ENDO?

Endometriosis is a serious condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it.

This tissue can attach to organs like the ovaries or fallopian tubes which leads to: extreme pain, cramps, heavy periods, and sometimes difficulty getting pregnant.

It is linked to many types of cancer and is amongst the 20 most painful diseases, and is often critically misdiagnosed and misunderstood.

Unheard aims to bring awareness to this issue.

"IT'S JUST ANXIETY."

"IS YOUR JOB STRESSFUL?"

"YOU'RE BEING HYSTERIC."

These are some of the many quotes people hear from doctors.

MEET

SOPHIA

A 31 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO WAS MISDIAGNOSED.

At age 11 Sophia started experiencing extreme abdominal pain.

Like many others she would be misdiagnosed for several years, before finally being correctly diagnosed with Endometriosis.

"EVEN THE STRONGEST PAIN KILLERS DON’T TOUCH THE PAIN."

“Excruciating abdominal pains, anaemia, painful sex, panic attacks, blood in urine, and vomiting.”

"I WAS PUT ON CONTRACEPTIVES AT AGE 14."

"Perhaps it’s IBS", they said. So, they put me on an extremely restrictive low FODMAP diet and called it a day.

It took...

13

years

before Sophie was correctly diagnosed.

The healthcare system has failed us and we deserve better.
